A status orange wind warning for Cork has now lapsed, however the county remains under a yellow wind warning until 3pm this afternoon with Met Eireann warning of strong west to northwest winds developing.
Motorists are being urged to be cautious on the roads this morning following this morning's orange warning, which was in place from 6am to 8am with gusts in excess off 110 kilometres per hour in places.
There are reports of a number of trees down across the city and county, including near the Fingerpost Roundabout in Douglas, while over 2,000 customers were temporarily without power in the Turner's Cross area of the city at around 8am.
Power outages have also been reported in Timoleague, Kinsale, Bantry, Castletownbere and Clonakilty.
