MTU Students' Union says the possible end to further reductions in college fees is a step backwards from Government.
Recent budgets indicate the €1000 reduction to the student contribution fee won't happen again.
Higher Education Minister James Lawless has said the money could be better spent on accommodation or establishing new courses.
Speaking to RedFM News Patrycja Zbikowska from MTU Students' Union says students' are already crippled with high living costs:
"It kind of feels like we're going backwards over the last few years we have had the reductions come in and that was very welcome by the students. Seeing that those reductions are going to happen now is very disheartning for students because of the fees that they all have to pay and the coursework, matierals. It's another thing that students are going to be looking into spending more money on."
