A 4.8 million euro investment has been announced in cardiac services at The Mater Private Hospital in Cork.
25 thousand invasive cardiac procedures have been performed at the hospital since it opened 10 years ago.
The Mater Private say the new investment will double patient access to the amount of procedures that can be performed on site.
Speaking to RedFM News, CEO of Mater Private Cork Sandra Daly says 25 million euro has been invested into the hospital in the last 10 years:
"So in support of those core specialities there's been an investment of over €25 million over the last decade and we are continuing to invest in the site here. If you look at this hospital, the way that it has grown it is now treating over 74,000 patients every year and our patient satisfaction rate was 92% in September with over 95% of patients saying that they would use us again"
