The country’s largest private employer says it will do everything it can to offer flexible jobs and support to Ukrainians arriving in Ireland.

The Cork based Musgrave Group say they are working with the government to offer potential employment for people fleeing the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The group, which owns the SuperValu, Centra and Daybreak brands, has transferred over €1 million worth of goods and money donated by them and their customers to the Irish Red Cross and UNICEF Ireland since the start of March.

They have also provided several truckloads of supplies for refugees arriving in Ireland and Poland.

Speaking to RedFM News, Chief Supply Chain Officer at the Musgrave Group Luke Hannon says customers have raised over €625,000.

"I'd like to thank the customers of our stores across the country across the island of Ireland actually, for the generosity.

"Specifically on the point on employment, obviously a lot of people arriving into the country are not yet at the point where they are ready to take on employment.

"We are actively working with charities and with government parties to ensure that when those people are able to begin work that we can provide that employment opportunity through our own business and those of our customers."
