A music festival held in East Cork yesterday in aid of the Midleton Flood Appeal has been hailed a success
A month's worth of rain fell in just 24 hours during Storm Babet, leaving homes and businesses in the town under three feet of water.
The army was called in to the town to help evacuate people stranded in flooded properties and transport others whose cars were left submerged in flood waters
The Midleton Together Music Festival, supported by Cork's RedFM was held at Midleton GAA Club and acts such as Paddy Casey, The Frank and Walters and Stephanie Rainey took to the stage.
Chairman of the club, John Fenton, told RedFM News that people have been left devastated by the flooding:
"The real impact to this was the fact that it happened so quickly. People had no chance. It is a complete rebuild for most houses internally. The external structure is still there but the internal structure - it's a complete rebuild for a lot of people".
