Emergency service were called to a crash involving two cars on the Cork to Carrigaline road at 7:50pm.
Three units of the fire service, Gardaí and the National Ambulance Service attended the scene.
The driver of one of the cars was taken to Cork University Hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries.
The road was closed in both directions over night to facilitate forensic collision investigators.
