National Heritage Week is being marked by a series of heritage projects in the city and county.

The annual event kicks off on Saturday and will include guided walks of historical sites in Allihies and an outdoor pop-up museum in Charleville.

An object-based discussion of 250 years of convent life will also take place at Nano Nagle Place.

Online events include a five minute animation celebrating the history and heritage of Irish Travellers that was developed by Cork Traveller Women's Network.

Anyone interested in attending an event is advised to consult the individual event page on www.heritageweek.com
