New car registrations in Cork are down 22% for the first three months of the year.
8,380 new cars were bought in Cork City and County between January and March of last year compared to 6,468 this year.
Nationally new car registrations were down around 10,000 this month compared to March 2019 while the figures for the year to date are down just over 20 per cent.
Used car imports for March have also seen a sharp decline - they have almost halved compared to the same time last year.
They are down by a third for the first three months of this year.
