A new chapter begins as Dubray Books open their first ever shop in Cork today.
The new store has created 11 jobs so far at the St. Patrick Street premises, with hopes that additional staff be needed in the future.
It's the first Dubray bookshop the Irish company has opened in both Cork and Munster.
Speaking at the launch, Operations Manager of Dubray Books, Mairead Gallagher told RedFM News that online orders from the Munster region during lockdown played a big role in their decision to open the Cork store and to continue expanding into the province:
"We were blown away during lockdown with the number of web orders we got from the Munster area. So, I mean, that was one of the reasons why, you know, we continued to look at the Cork area. So I would expect, you know, we seem to have a very good customer, loyal customer base. So I would hope that we would, down the road, we are looking at expanding across the group anyway so, if suitable sites come up, we'll definitely be looking at them."
