A new report has found that Ireland is Europe's most age-friendly country.
That's according to "The Unifying Generations" report, which found that over-65s in Cork play a vital role in society - by volunteering, mentoring, providing care and finanical help.
Almost 1-in-5 of Cork's over-65s volunteer in their local community.
It found that 84% percent of younger people in Cork say the support provided by the older generation in their daily life is important.
And, over half of Corkonians, across all ages, are friends with a someone of a different generation.
