The future of the long-stalled Cork Events Centre was discussed at a meeting of Government leaders last week, however no decision on funding has been made yet.
The sod was turned on the site of the 6,000 seater centre in February 2016, however it has been mired by delays and issues with funding.
In February this year, Cork City Council said the plan needed more funding from the Government but refused to say how much.
Speaking to RedFM News, Minister Eamon Ryan was asked about the Events Centre today:
"I'm not gonna lie, we haven't made a decision yet but we want to make a decision. We discussed it at leaders meeting last week, and all three parties are committed, It's the development of Cork, it benefits everyone particularly that the city centre, North Main Street area There will be a lot of dereliction if you don't develop. I'd prefer to get the decision and get it right, there will be a decision very short meeting".
