Residents opposed to one of the proposed routes for the M20 say people's lives are in limbo due to delays in the project.
The "No to Navy Route" group of Whitechurch residents made the comment after it was announced the route will not be decided until the first quarter of 2022.
The project group behind the Cork to Limerick motorway say the delay is in anticipation of updated policy regarding sustainable transport.
Locals living in the Blarney area say they're not opposed to the motorway itself but believe a better alternative that doesn't result in the loss of homes or farm land is possible.
Speaking to RedFM News, Dee Hosford from the 'No to Navy Route' group says the latest update was only posted online after up to thirty residents requested it:.
"After being told that initially we'd have a decision in May, which was then pushed to August, which was then pushed to October, is now pushed to early 2022.
"There's an awful lot of people left in limbo by this, there's an awful lot of people that don't know what is going to happen to their homes, and the project office aren't helping by not providing us with the information unless we go looking for it."
