The preferred route corridor for the Northern Distributor road on the north side of Cork city has been unveiled.
The proposed 14km road is set to run from the Carrigrohane Road on the western side of the city to Glanmire in the east, through Hollyhill, Dublin Hill and Banduff.
It will include both traffic and bus lanes as well as cycling and pedestrian facilities.
Speaking to RedFM News Lord Mayor Cllr Dan Boyle says the preferred route corridor is open for public consultation until April 10th:
"This project is crucial for improving sustainable transport options across Cork city, prioritizing non-car based transport modes, it will bring greater connectivity to the communities, both existing and new in this part of the city and beyond."
