Northside Community Enterprises has announced that it is to take over the operation of the Before5 Creche which closed abruptly at the end of August
In a statement NCE say they are currently taking all necessary steps to be TUSLA compliant and say this will take several weeks
The service will provide the free pre school scheme and will also provide a sessional creche service for children aged 2 years and over
A demonstration was staged by staff and parents of the 120 children affected by the closure of the Before5 creche last week with a second demonstration to go ahead this afternoon
Speaking to RedFM News Before5 staff member Christine Mullins says it's a bitter sweet day as staff are still in limbo
"It's a great day for the parents and for the children and for the community and every one involved. However, it's still it's not a great day for the staff because that statement doesn't mention us in any capacity whatsoever. You know, it doesn't give us any hope of what's going to happen to us with our jobs"
