The number of drivers issued with Fixed Charge Penalty notices for using their mobiles while driving has increased in the city.
Up to the end of October this year there were 1313 fines issued to motorists while for the whole of 2021 there were 1258 handed out.
In North and West Cork they are so far behind on the figures from last year with 2 months yet to be recorded.
The Echo reports so far this year year across the three Garda divisions 269 drivers have failed to pay the fine.
