Deputy Donnnchadh Ó Laoghaire has written to Minister Norma Foley outlining key measures which he believes need to be addressed over the Christmas break to ensure that schools can reopen
and remain open safely in the new year.
His call comes as many school principals are reporting a drop in the number of students attending school this week as fears over the Omicron variant lead to some parents taking the decision to withdraw their children early from school ahead of the Christmas break
Speaking to RedFM News Deputy O'Laoghaire says keeping schools functioning is crucial and all measures must be taken to ensure they reopen and remain open in January
