One woman is dead and two others seriously injured after a car hit a number of pedestrians in County Cork overnight.
It happened in the village of Ballingeary just after one o'clock this morning.
A woman in her 50's was pronounced dead at the scene, her two friends aged in their 40's were taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.
Main St. in the village has been closed off while a forensic collision investigation is carried out and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Southern Correspondent with the Irish Independent, Ralph Riegel says a number of others escaped injury.
