The development will consist of 136 houses, 99 apartments, and 40 duplexes, with a total value 123.6 million euro.
It will be made up of 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom properties, ranging from 2 to 4 storeys.
A diverse range of housing options are planned with 28 one-bedroom houses, 92 two-bedroom houses, 34 three-bedroom houses, 18 two-bedroom duplex units, 34 three-bedroom duplex units, 8 two-bedroom apartments, and 26 three-bedroom apartments.
Planning Permission for the development was granted in March 2022 and construction is expected to take around 30 months.
In a statement to RedFM News, Cork homebuilder Bridgewater Homes says it will offer "a balanced mix of housing options to create a vibrant and inclusive community for individuals and families".
The development will also include a new crèche, a number of family-friendly neighbourhood play areas - as well as pedestrian and cycle facilities.
It will be the largest-scale residential development in the Bishopstown area in the past three decades.
