The operators of Blarney Castle have launched a High Court Challenge over the awarding of permission for a primary care centre development near to the attraction.
The Irish Examiner report that that Blarney Castle Estate Partnership is challenging the granting of permission to JAW Asset Holdings for a three story primary care centre, along with retail units and a café.
Blarney Castle Estate Partnership has argued that the development, which is 236 metres from the boundary of the castle estate, is situated at what they say is "an important gateway to blarney's historic town centre for visitors arriving from Kerry".
It's the second challenge lodged by the castle's operators against developments near its boundaries - last week a challenge was launched against the building of an 80 bedroom hotel, residential units, a cafe and supermarket on St Ann's Road.
