The OPW Minister has arrived in Bandon for the unveiling of the town's new flood defence scheme
Minister Patrick O'Donovan is in the West Cork town to mark the completion of the €30.5 million flood defence scheme which will protect more than 390 homes and businesses.
Bandon Town has a long history of serious flooding and after the last serious flood event in November 2009, it was agreed to develop a flood relief scheme for the town and construction works began in 2016.
The Scheme which included works such as new walls and embankments, excavating the channel and the underpinning of the Bandon bridge has now been completed.
