There could be good news for Mallow in next week's budget - regarding a relief road which would divert traffic away from the town centre.
That's according to County Councillor John Paul O’Shea.
He was one of four North Cork Councillors who met Enterprise, Trade and Employment Minister Simon Coveney to raise their concerns about the delay in the bypass.
Speaking to RedFM News, Councillor O’Shea says he is very confident for good news for the town in Budget 2024:
"Mallow is choked with traffic on a daily basis could Waterford's traffic, on the way to Killarney, passes though the bottom of the town - so it is critical for Mallow, and indeed the wider North Cork area, that it is progressed as soon as possible and we need to put all our efforts together to make sure that that does proceed in 2024".
