Over €6 million in funding has been secured for Cork piers and harbour works.
Some of the projects below have already been allocated funding under BAR, but have received an increase because Government have decided to fund 95% of the works.
Some of the brand new projects under the BAR scheme will include the pontoon at Courtmac and works at Schull.
Cork TD Christopher O’Sullivan welcomed the announcement saying::
"We need to continue investing more in our marine infrastructure.” He continued “In relation to the funding at Glandore and Keelbeg I will be ensuring that this is not used to block access for pier users in any way as was previously proposed.”
