The owner of a Palestinian café in the city says his staff just wait by the phone to see if their family members are still alive.
Members of the Cork Palestine Solidarity Group met today to call for a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel.
The group is organising a protest on the Grand Parade at 1 o’clock this Saturday.
Speaking to RedFM News, Owner of Izz Café Izzadeen Alkarajeh says his staff who have family in Gaza are the worst affected:
"When they lose the connection with their family and they can't send a message or call them, they get nervous and depressed. They only feel relieved when a friend of them responds to say they have spotted them in a certain school or shelter. They're relieved that they're still alive"
