The parents of the babies whose organs were incinerated by Cork University Maternity Hospital are due to protest outside CUH next month.
“The Voice of Our Angels” group are calling for a review into the incident to be released to them immediately after originally being told the review would be released in November last year.
Katie Quilligan and her family say they found out in September last year that the organs of her son James had been sent to Belgium with the organs of 17 other babies who died at CUMH at the start of the pandemic.
Speaking to RedFM News, Katie outlines what they were told would happen following James’ passing in January 2020.
"What we had signed after James had passed was for James to get a post-mortem so that we could get more detail. And, with that, there was an extra part of it that they wanted to use some of it to look into the history of babies to see is there anything they could do to change what happened with the babies that passed. And we signed a form that it would be cremated and buried in the Garden of Angels and that didn't happen."
