97 children in Cork do not have a school place for September.

200 parents will sleep outside the Dail tonight to urge the Government to provide school places for children with special needs.

Protesters from Equality in Education are looking for transparency and accountability in the allocation of resources to special education.

Social Democrats TD Jen Cummins is supporting tonight's action and says the current system for allocating places is a joke:

"In Waterford recently there was a lottery for a school place. It's so unncacceptable that in 2025 we have a lottery for a school place. Children have a right to appropriate education and a school place is something everyone deserves."
