A peace rally will take place in Cork today in solidarity with the people of Sudan.
The "Standing with Sudan - United Against War' Protest gets underway at Daunt Square at the top of Patrick's Street and Grand Parade at 1 o'clock this afternoon.
So far 163 Irish citizens and their families have been evacuated from the war-torn country.
A ceasefire in the country has been extended but there are reports that the fighting is continuing.
GOAL Sudan HR Manager Sara Mohammed is still in Khartoum where a small number of the charity's staff remain:
"They're doing fine. I am monitoring them in various places every day. Three of them, including me, live in dangerous places where are near the clashes. The others are living in safer places".
