A peaceful protest is taking place on UCC’s quad by students supporting healthcare workers in Gaza.
The demonstration is being held as medical and dental students are graduating today.
Members of the UCC student BDS group have been camping out on the quad for two weeks urging the university to cut ties with companies who are profiting from the occupation of palestine.

Speaking to RedFM News, Ainsley Rucker of UCC BDS says the group needed to target graduation ceremonies today:
"The university needs to do more, and because graduations are a big thing for the universities we need to have our voice heard during this day. And we're making sure that any staff both alumni and academic are involved."
