People are taking to the polls across the country to vote in the European and Local Elections

The first voter turnout figures are coming through this afternoon as people take to polling centres across the country.

Voting centres for the local and European elections are open until 10pm.

Turnout from Cork County up to midday stands at 11.3% with no turnout figures available for the city

The counting of votes in Cork gets underway tomorrow at Nemo Rangers GAA club and City Hall.
