People are being warned that they may lose water supply while repairs are being made.
There are 4,500 homes and businesses across the country without water, including many in North Cork.
Uisce Éireann say the vast majority should have supply restored today.
Niall O'Riordan is Water Operations Manager for Uisce Éireann in Cork County
Speaking to RedFM News, he says that scheduled maintenance works may be delayed,
"We will be very much in a reactive mode in these conditions anyway, reacting to where major bursts have occurred, and getting those fixed as soon as possible.
Whenever they become aware of any breaks on the public networks give us a call on the 1-800-278-278 number to alert us to those".
