A campaigner from Youghal has launched a petition calling on Transport Minister Eamon Ryan to re-open the rail line which connected the town with Cork City.
Jacob Sosinsky, who is originally from Poland but has been living in Youghal since 2022, has started a petition through MyUplift urging the government to restore the line..
He says the restoration would help ease traffic congestion in the town
His petition has already racked up more than 320 signatures in less than 24 hours, signalling strong local support for the return of the railway line.
