Phase one of Cork's newest park will be officially opened on Sunday.
Marina Park, in the heart of Cork's Docklands, will be six times larger than Fitzgerald's Park.
It is hoped the 70 acre Marina Park will serve as a playground and 'haven for biodiversity'.
Taoiseach Michael Martin will officially open the park - and there will be a morning of acrobatics, sport, play, music and fun for all the family from 10 to 1.
Children will be able to take part in Circus Factory's ' Super StarCircus Show' and 'Circus Disco' and Stevie G will also run an 'Everybody Dance' event which caters for adults and children who are often excluded from events such as these.
Speaking to RedFM News Operations Director, David Joyce outlines how best to get to the festivities:
"If you're attending the day's events, families are encouraged to walk, cycle or take the 202 or 202A bus to Ballintemple. If, however, you are driving, visitors are being asked to be considerate, park legally, and preferably to use the public carpark between Shandon and Lee Rowing Clubs".
