Pilots at Aer Lingus have voted to ACCEPT Labour Court recommendations to end a bitter pay row at the airline.
It follows a ballot by the pilots union IALPA, which closed this morning.
With a turnout of 96%, pilots at Aer Lingus, who are members of IAPLA, voted 85% in favour of accepting the labour court recommendations.
The proposal sees pilots get a 17.75% pay rise. They had been looking for nearly 24%.
Meanwhile, the recommendation also sees the end to accruing agreements between management and pilots at Aer Lingus, which means less flexibility over leave during the summer months.
Pilots had been engaging in a work to rule for a number of weeks, which led to the cancelation of over 600 flights at Aer Lingus.
However, it had been suspended pending the outcome of this ballot.
Now that both Aer Lingus and IALPA have accepted the Labour Court recommendations, it means this bitter pay rate, which had lasted nearly two years, has finally come to an end.
