Plans for seven 5G masts in the city centre have been rejected.
The Irish Examiner reports five of the booster masts were due to be installed on Patrick Street, however planners rejected the proposal due to concerns about their visual impact.
The other two masts were earmaked for Paul Street and Academy Street.
The applications to install them and the reasons why they were rejected are not readily available as the structures are exempt from planning and are dealt with under the same licencing process used for street furniture such as tables and chairs outside restaurants.
