A 2.7 hectare site in Cork with the potential for 350 homes is being transferred to the Land Development agency.
A design team has been appointed and a planning application is expected to be lodged early next year, with construction expected to begin in 2026.
The site beside Wilton Shopping Centre is owned by the ESB and the project will include a mix of affordable homes and cost rental apartments.
The LDA is already in the process of building almost 270 homes in Shanakiel and is developing 300 cost rental apartments at Horgan’s Quay.
