Plans are in the pipeline for the €350 million transformation of the City's South Docks and feature a rehab hospital, 2,000 homes, and 5,000 jobs.
O’Callaghan Properties is expected to lodge two separate planning applications in the coming weeks which includes new life for the Odlums building and demolition of R&H Hall silos.
It includes a specialist 130-bed rehabilitation hospital, to be just the second in Ireland.
The Irish Examiner reports works could start in the first quarter of 2023 if planning is secured.
Also included in the first phase of the development is three office blocks, 160 apartments, and the repurposing of the Odlums building on Kennedy Quay.
Plans for the red brick building include a food court, some retail and leisure units with offices, apartments and a top-floor glass-walled restaurant.
Provision is being made in the project for a bridge over the River Lee for Cork's proposed east-west light rail transport.
