Plans for the Twin Tracking of the Glounthaune to Midleton railway line will opened for public consultation next Tuesday.
Irish Rail will unveil details of the proposed twin tracking of the 10km stretch of the rail line.
The development is part of works to be undertaken by the National Transport Authority and Iarnród Éireann - to deliver the improved commuter services set out in the Cork Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy 2040.
It's expected the project will help facilitate an ultimate tripling of train frequency along the line.
The formal launch of the public consultation takes place in Midleton Station next Tuesday at 11am.
