Post excavation analysis on skeletal remains discovered under a former pub on Barrack Street will help archaeologists to date them.
That's according to the City Archaeologist with Cork City Council Ciara Brett who was speaking after the skeletal remains of six people were found under the partially demolished Nancy Spain's pub.
The remains, which are still on site, are fragmentary and predate the current 19th-century building on the site and are likely to be 18th century or earlier.
told RedFM News it may be up to 2 months before the remains are moved from the site to allow for further testing.
