A post mortem is due to be carried out later today after a man shot himself dead at a doctor's surgery in North Cork last evening.
The tragic incident occurred at the Primary Healthcare Centre at Gooldshill in Malllow shortly before 6.30pm.
The man, who was is his 50's died at the scene.
His body has been removed to the mortuary in Cork University Hospital where a post mortem will be conducted and a file will be prepared for the Coroners Court.
Gardai are treating his death as a personal tragedy.
