Power cuts have been reported across Cork as the county remains under a status Orange rain warning.
Small pockets of Kinsale and Dunmanway are experiencing power outages this morning due to last nights high winds, however ESB repair crews are out working to restore connections in these areas.
The city and county is expected to be hit by thundery downpours and spot flooding again from this afternoon into tonight again.
This morning Cork City Council's Flood Assessment Team met to review the overnight impact of the weather, the council received no reports of flooding or storm related damage overnight and all roads in the city remain open.
However, further heavy rainfall and thundery showers are expected from 3pm this afternoon until midnight tonight, so the City Council is asking property owners to be on alert until the warning has been lifted.
It's expected that the heavy rainfall will likely lead to surface water and hazardous driving conditions across the city and county so motorists are asked to drive with care.
Cork City Council and County Council crews are on standby across the city as the weather deteriorates.
Aoife Kealy from Met Éireann says people need to take particular care in areas impacted by the status Orange warning.
