Pre-booking is strongly advised for thousands of people taking the train this Christmas Eve.
Cork Commuter will run a Saturday service until around half 6 this evening.
DART and Commuter will operate a Saturday service until between 7 and 9 o'clock tonight.
Iarnród Éireann spokesperson Barry Kenny has the outlook for InterCity services today:
"For Christmas Eve, as it's a Saturday, we will have a Saturday service right through the day, on our InterCity, Dart and commuter services. Last services on each route are a little bit earlier than normal -so between half six and nine o'clock, depending what route you're travelling on, so check your times before travel for the last service".
