A school principal in Carrigaline says the Department of Education can’t split a school across two sites.
There’s plans for two classes of Owenabue Educate Together National School to move to pre-fab classrooms on the Carrigaline Educate Together site.
The school says it could take between 30 and 40 minutes for parents to drop students to both sites.
Speaking to RedFM News, Principal of Owenabue Educate Together National School, Trina Golden says it’s unfair on pupils:
"So you'd be asking our pupils to come in the gate with 'Carrigaline Educate Together' on the outside. Watch all the other pupils walk into a purpose fit built school, take a left and go to a re-fitted pre-fab and spend their day in there."
