The long awaited service, which was first mooted last year and faced lots of obstacles along the way, is coming into service on October 12th next
The Kinsale Connect or the 228 service, which is operated by West Cork Connect will begin with a slightly reduced timetable of 20 services a day on the half hour out of Kinsale
Speaking to RedFM News Damien Long of West Cork Connect says he expects the service which will approach the city from the West side through Bishopstown to be a success
"Students people working in the city are going to benefit hugely from this. We're a private company so we can monitor the service better, run it better, and look we've made changes already to the lives of people in West Cork in the Skibbereen and Bantry areas. Their lives changed when our service started and I think that the same thing is going to happen for the people of Kinsale"
