The Enterprise Minister says the opening of a new cyber security company office in Cork will provide high quality jobs.
Proofpoint opened its office today, hiring around 120 employees but plans to double that number in the next few years.
The jobs created already include Engineering, HR, Marketing, Talent Aquisition and IT positions.
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Peter Burke says growing the cyber security industry is important for the country:
"This provides very high quality jobs, a lot financial background, in the tech sector, and engineers. They are a very significant cyber security player that really operate in both public and private sector, which is a good mix of a company for its scale. And we know where we are in the terms of IT and growth in the country, that is very important to that growth because security is very much to the forefront of all areas of cyber security."
