Protests are being mounted in Cork, Dublin and Limerick tomorrow over the standards of treatment for people suffering from an eating disorder
Campaigners with the Mind Everybody group are calling for more direct access to care, early intervention and the availability of more beds
A survey conducted by the group reveals that over half of respondents were unable to access treatment through the public healthcare system within the past 12 months.
Speaking to RedFM News Luna Fleming from Cork city, who is recovering from an eating disorder, says early intervention is key and it's time the Government invested in these vital services
"They're trying to set up more centres and they have these goals and stuff, but I feel like they're kind of saying they're going to do stuff constantly and then not sticking with it. If eating disorders are caught early, that's the easiest way to tackle them"
The Cork protest is from City Hall at 11am tomorrow Saturday
