A protest was held outside Cork's City Hall last night as a meeting between Uisce Eireann and the City Council was held behind closed doors.
Councillors expressed their frustration after the meeting with many complaining their questions had not been answered.
Thousands of householders across the city have been living with dirty water for nearly two years and Uisce Éireann says the problem lies with old cast iron pipes which are being replaced.
Speaking to RedFM News Labour Cllr Peter Horgan says people are frustrated with the resolutions being put forward by the utility:
"Being told to run the water until it runs clear, but you can't run it clear because it's discoloured. And the EPA are having a hands off approach saying if it runs clear it's fine. So you have people across the city, northside and southside, and its not acceptable for a modern european city, for the water infrastructure to be at the level that it is."
