A peaceful protest planned at UCC, in honour of healthcare workers killed in the Gaza war, will coincide with today's graduation ceremony for medical and dental students
An encampment was set up on the Quad over a fortnight ago by members of the UCC student BDS group
They are demanding UCC cuts all ties with Israeli institutions and non-Israeli companies which are profiting from the occupation of Palestine.
Speaking to RedFM News Isabel Moore Walsh from UCC BDS outlines what form the action will take:
We will be chanting on the quad and showing our solidarity with the people of Gaza and with the healthcare workers, specifically highlighting that as part of these medical graduations, we have been in contact with the students involved, and many of them are on our side. We'll be getting them involved, handing out kufiyas So that they can show their solidarity as they are graduating."
