The Good Room in association with Cork City Council are delighted to announce that a public fireworks display will take place across the city tomorrow night, Thursday, at 8.30pm to draw the sold-out Magic Nights By The Lee Winter Solstice series to a close.
Magic Nights By The Lee opened in Fitzgerald's Park last night (Tuesday) with a host of Cork acts performing. The series continues tonight with Candy Warhol and the Haus of Mockie Ah, along with comedian Sinead Quinlan performing. The events wrap up tomorrow night, Thursday, with Cork folk artist Clare Sands and Afro Beat MC Yves Solo performing ahead of thefireworks finale accompanied by Fish Go Deep.
The fireworks show will take place at 8.30pm and will be visible across the heart of the city. The public are invited to watch the fireworks from socially distanced, safe view points only.
Legendary Cork DJs Fish Go Deep, who will be playing live on stage in Fitzgerald's Park, have been specially commissioned to compose a piece to accompany the fireworks display. The composition titled ‘As One’ will feature a segment read by Cork writer Conal Creedon from his 1999 debut novel, ‘Passion Play.’ The title of the music refers to a line from the novel which reads, “Everything is as one.”
The display will last 10 minutes and owners of domestic pets are advised to keep animals indoors for the duration of the show.
To ensure that Corkonans near and far can enjoy the show, the display will be broadcast on air and live streamed on RedFM.ie and The Good Room and Red FM Facebook Pages .
