The public have labelled the city’s bus station as unsafe and unhygienic.

It comes after the Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan has been asked to provide an update on the €5.8m funding set to revamp the station in 2026.

The proposed project will improve the layout, lighting and bathrooms at the bus station on Parnell Place.

Speaking to RedFM News, these people say waiting for a bus at the station can be dangerous:

"I get the bus twice a week, most times it's not hygenic and it's unsafe at night."

"It's kind of half dangerous really, a lot of people won't sit in the bus station, they're nervous about the possibility of someone coming over."
