The Garda Representative Association says the public are sometimes waiting up to 48 hours for Garda response in Cork City.
The G-R-A says 125 more Gardaí need to be allocated to the Cork City Division to solve the staffing crisis within the Gardaí.
138 new Gardaí from Templemore will be sent to stations across the country tomorrow with only 3 expected to be sent to Cork.
Speaking to RedFM News, Padraig Harrington from the G-R-A in Cork City says the lack of Gardaí is causing frustration all round:
"You have somebody that rings a Garda station expecting, a response within a reasonable time, and they're taking their frustration of the Garda arriving out to them 24 or 48 hours afterwards, out on the Garda. and the Garda then is frustrated with Garda management because they're not supplying adequate resources to deal with the cause. So it's leading to frustration around."
