Bridge Street and South Main Street were flooded with reports that underground pumps installed to avoid flooding did not activate
In a statement issued to RedFM News this morning the County Council says initial investigations suggest that the flooding was as a result of the significant amount of rainfall that occurred over a short period of time between 11pm and 3am which overwhelmed the collection network.
Speaking to RedFM News in the past few minutes local Senator Tim Lombard says the people of Bandon need confidence that the multi million euro flood relief system installed in the town in functioning properly:
